Aasta Auto AS approached us with a concern that there is insufficient lighting in the showroom during dark periods. We conducted measurements and obtained an average light density of approximately 400lx (measured at the height of the vehicles' hoods). After preparing the project and performing lighting calculations, we presented the client with a recommendation to replace the existing 400W metal halide lights in the showroom with new and energy-efficient 150W high-ceiling LED lights.
In total, we replaced 30 metal halide lights in the vehicle showroom. This activity resulted in an average electricity savings of 70% for lighting. The light intensity increased by an average of 2.5 times. Considering that the lighting is not constantly used at full capacity, the estimated payback period for the project is approximately 4 years. The lights come with a 5-year warranty, and their effective lifespan at the given usage density is estimated to be 15 years.
